“CAN THEATER INSPIRE SOCIAL CHANGE?”
FIRST PANEL DISCUSSION OF DRAMA DESK’S 2008/2009 SEASOn

AT TONY’S DI NAPOLI RESTAURANT IN TIMES SQUARE

The Drama Desk, the organization of professional writers, critics and columnists who cover all sectors of New York theater, will hold its first Panel Discussion/Dinner of the 2008/2009 theater season on Monday, February 2, from 5 to 7:30 PM at Tony’s Di Napoli Restaurant, 147 West 43rd Street, in Times Square, it was announced, by William Wolf, President of the organization.
The Panel Discussion, exploring “Can Theater Inspire Social Change?,” will feature Joseph Bologna, co-author and director of the new play, Lansky; Richard Frankel, producer of such shows as Hairspray and Gypsy; John Gould Rubin, Co-Artistic Director and Executive Director of LAByrinth Theater Company; actress and author Nilaja Sun (No Child…); and actor Casimiro Torres (The Castle). David Rothenberg, host of WBAI Radio’s Any Saturday, will moderate.
A buffet dinner will be served from 5:00 to 6:15 PM; the Panel Discussion will take place from 6:15 to 7:30 PM. The cost to Drama Desk members is $25; the cost for non-members is $45. Payment can be made at the door in cash or by check made payable to “Drama Desk.”
