Cranston, McDonald, NPH and Mays win Drama Desk Awards

Elysa Gardner, USAToday, June 2, 2014

There were no real shockers at Sunday’s Drama Desk Awards — though Neil Patrick Harris, a general favorite this theater awards season for his performance in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, did have to share his prize here.

Harris tied in the outstanding actor in a musical category with Jefferson Mays, the star of A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, which earned six awards in all — more than any other this production this season — including outstanding musical. (The acclaimed romp is also up for the most Tonys next Sunday, with a total of 10 nominations.)
